HOPE

Believing that things will turn out the way we want,

isn't having hope.

It's having expectations.

Believing that things will turn out the way God wants,

is having hope.

Expectations will get us in trouble every time.

But hope,

hope is good.

Because God is good.

Expectations will drown us in doubt and disappointment.

But hope . . . hope never disappoints.

Because the One we hope in is faithful.

He never fails.

Expectations leave us empty, wondering what went wrong.

Hope fills us with a joy that "what we see" can't take away.

Expectations make us weak from trying, striving, fixing.

But, hope?

Hope brings rest.

Hope brings peace.

"May the God of hope fill you, and me,
with all joy and peace as we trust in Him,
so that we may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Romans 15:13
