FLY

When pain and disappointment come, I can pretty much guarantee you will fly.

We all will.

We will fly inward to hide or we will fly outward to others.

We will fly into the waiting arms of anger and resentment or we will fly into the arms of hope.

We will fly to the world for its anesthesia or to the world's creator for His comfort.

We will fly into fear or we will fly into love.

We will fly into our minds for understanding and reason that will fail, or we will fly into the Word of God where truth stands forever.

Yes. We are going to fly.

But where?

"Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to the cross I cling.
Naked come to Thee for dress; helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly; wash me Savior or I die."

Rock of Ages

One word. Five minutes.
Lots of women. One Savior.

  1. Hi Cheri. I am over here for the first time from FMF and it cheered my heart to see a very similar picture and thoughts in your post too! The need to fly free from life's cares is strong indeed and we do look for various ways to deal with that urge. Our safest departure is into Christ's arms of love and grace. Lovely images and ideas here. I particularly like the quote from 'Rock of Ages'. Thank you! Blessings :) x
